Dating websites, anyone on match.com?

My xp is on match.com which I had thought of using when and if I felt ready. What would happen if I joined, would he see me or can i somehow make sure he doesn't?And how does it work? Do you only see profiles of people that get matched with you?

Failing this are there any other decent websites to meet people? I probably cant actually get out to date just yet but at some point i'd at least like a little bit of male attention even if its only e mails! Can't believe I am even saying this as I was so convinced I didn't want another man inmy life ever again, I even felt sorry for other mums at groups talikng about their partners as I felt life was so much more complicated when XP was here! Probably the winter approaching making me feel a bit lonely.

he may find you on match.com if he does a search in your local area and recongnises your picture or your details. There are other dating websites you could use, friends reunited have a dating website and there is another i know of called parents already if your looking for a partner who has children already.
Cant really give you much more advice than that as i dont use them, hope someone else will come along and be a little more helpful to you

Thanks I thought he might be able to, will have a look at freinds reunited, hadnt thought of them. Anyone know if I can create a profile without pictures on match.com?

if money is an issue look on plenty of fish . com it is free and it may give you an idea of dating sites

I think your ex would see you on there dont think the sites are clever enough to block people but i may be wrong

Mysinglefriend has some quite cute men on it - and because they have to be recommended by a friend then hopefully they are less likely to be psychos.

oh yes mysinglefreind i saw that on here! Hmmm... I also remember a thread about plentyoffish.com, i will see if i can find it cos can't remember if it was good. Good that its free though. Trust xp to go on the site i wanted to use, my cousin has said good things about it i'm sure. Maybe i should wait till he meets someone then go on there!

on the other hand you cant put your life on hold for your ex - go for it if you are comfortable with it...... he wont be able to read your messages etc, and use a password he wouldnt guess.....

If you know his profile name you can block him from viewing your profile. You can alos create a photo free profile but in honesty you won't get much of a response.

Chocolate(can't say that other word am terrified of them!)yes I know, he can be so difficult though that I wouldnt want him knowing i was looking even though i know he is and he's already had one short fling since we split. I just wish he'd get on with it! oh wow i've got lots to browse now thanks everyone, I was thinking maybe i could work out his profile name and block it, would that mean he couldnt see me on there at all? I could set up a profile with different name and no pics then browse till i find him then when i find out his name block him? Are there usernames on it then like on here? (Don't worry when I put myself on there I won't use this name, don't think it'd attract much interest lol!)

Sorry just re read my post and realised I sound like I'm saying no more suggestions which wasnt what I meant(long day) anyway keep them coming if anyone has any more? Have to do last feed soon but will keep checking later or tomorrow.

on most of the dating websites you create a username like on here.. if you don't want him to find you though i would be wary about creating a profile at all until you've browsed and found him (should be able to do this for free, think it's the profile that costs), as even without a photo you still have to enter details about your appearance and background which may give you away. and if you are anywhere near a match according to the website, he may be presented with your profile, without even doing a search himself. i'd find him first then block him as soon as you sign up.
