40th Birthday Soon, Have No Friends To Celebrate With :(

Hi,

I will be 40 in 3 weeks time. To be honest I haven’t got no friends to celebrate with, absolutely sad and made me really depressed! :(

Looking on Facebook my old school, collage and work colleagues all celebrated it in style, gone away/surprise party with friends etc.

I look at my life, empty in comparison. I‘d love a friend who will be there and celebrate my birthday.

I live with my teenager son. I have always struggle to made friends to be truthful, lack in confidence due to my disability. My parents lives hundred of miles away and are in a high risk category for Coronavirus.

Sorry for the rant!

Oh my love, sounds rather upsetting for you.

I can completely understand that feeling of being on your own and wondering why everyone else has people and you don't! You compare your life to that of your peers, but you have to remember that Facebook only shows you the shiny bits!

My DP turned 40 earlier in the year (pre-Covid) and practically begged me to let it go under the radar! So we just had a meal for us and his children. Would your son be willing to have a meal out with you. You can still have a party with the two of you, just embrace it.

Sending you Cake and Wine for a lovely day xx

Ahhh. So many people will not be able to celebrate this year anyway.
What would make it feel special for you? A meal out, takeaway, day out somewhere?

Flowers this is very tough. Its very hard to watch everyone so 'happy' on social media. I am guilty of putting up a happy photo when I've spent and evening in tears. No ones life is perfect.

This year treat yourself and be good to YOU. Maybe make some plans to try and meet people/ online?

Its so hard.

The best birthday I had in a long time was when I took the day off work and spend most of not in the gym - I went for a work out, then a swim and sauna and ended up in the jacuzzi. I didn’t plan it (I hate my birthday) but it ended up very chilled and relaxing - no pressure to ‘have a happy birthday’.

Happy birthday.
