Ex and Christmas Day

We have a court order which said our DS aged 4 needed to be dropped at mine at 2pm on Christmas Day.

At 1pm, he messaged my dad claiming that his car was broken and he wouldn't drop him back. I phoned him and it was clear all his family were there and refused to drop him back. My ex claimed that they didn't have their cars.

Of course i picked him up and it's not about the travel, he's that once again, he just decides to be difficult on Christmas Day of all days and none of his family say anything about it. When I drove to their house, I backed up down a side road and saw that they'd all moved their cars down the adjacent road to hide them. I know my ex is a bastard but I just can't believe that none of his family or parents had any sense of decency, and didn't just enable him but actually went out of their way to hide their cars.

I just feel so angry that he's never able to put our son before his hatred towards me, even on Christmas Day. Needed to rant about this, it's really upset me.

If you did the same thing to him would your family do something about it or would they enable you same way?

Why would he do that anyway? Did he just want to spend more time with him?

Thanks for your reply. My family are so supportive of me and my son but they would never allow me to me to behave in such an egregious way to anyone, not least if their grandchild is involved.

And no, It wasn't about spending more time with him. It was about exerting power and control because he could do it

How were they when you went to the door?

They are out of order for doing that. All of them. It doesn’t matter IMO how your family would act. What they did wasn’t okay. Glad you were able to pick him up and spend Christmas with your son!
