Found out today that ex-h was in court last week and has been given community service and a restraining order. At least they took it seriously I guess. Am really hoping that's the end of it all but as he's back in court next month to try and get his parental resp removed and they are very likely to say no again, I'll just have to wait and see.

Apart from that am suddenly having real problems getting DD off to sleep on a night. She's always been good at night and has slept through from 4 weeks but suddenly she's taking several attempts to go off, and it's getting later and later when she finally goes off. Each time she wakes up she cries loads and will only go back off to sleep if I take her out of her cot and cuddle her. I've tried the controlled crying thing but it doesn't work as she just cries to the point of being physically sick. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cope? I desperately need some 'me' time.

How old is DD? Have you tried sitting next to her cot, perhaps holding her hand until she falls asleep? If she's still a baby, then this might not work. If it does, then move further and further away from the cot every few nights. Even when you are outside the door, stay there until she has fallen asleep. It takes a while but works. I can't imagine it working with a baby though. Sorry.

My DD is 11 months. She won't tolerate me doing anything to try and soothe her, she just wants picking up. It's really tiring. Thanks for the suggestion though
