Kids birthdays

What do you do for kids birthdays? It's the smallest' second birthday this weekend and before I would have done a birthday tea and invited grandparents over. Now we are not together (but he thinks I'm going to change my mind and all will be fantastic) he wants us to go out for the day somewhere she will enjoy. His words 'a nice family day out, all of us together'
Help. I can't stand to be anywhere near him. I've been very poorly this week so patience is running very thin and I really don't want to fall out anywhere near the children. He's already managed to tell them this is all my fault

I'd hate that. He's using your dad to get to you.
If you're feeling genuinely rough, you could let your ex take the dcs to Macdonald's or pizzaExpress while you get some sleep.
Or does your youngest have a little friend whose mum will help. If two mums plus three or four dcs went out, your ex could come too without it being too "happy-families".
Or can your best friends/ sisters come too.
