Ex still has bank account registered here

Hi
Just the above really. We separated 10 years ago. Ex lived at what was the family home 2008-2011. I live there now and bought his share from his creditors. So he is an ex bankrupt too. We still get statements once a year for what appears to be an inactive bank account. Anyone know of any reason why this would benefit my ex? Interestingly, he still has his name on the mortgage which he refused to remove. My solicitor had to add a statement to the paperwork (land registry) to say I have bought him out. He's a selfish manipulative b and I don't trust him. Pretty sure I asked him to change his bank account address last year.

Send the bank statements back "return to sender".

Unless you claim benefits I don't think this will have a personal affect on you but it doesn't seem right that he can't just do a change of address :(

He could be using it to get cheaper car insurance, to get and step kids into a local school, to claim travel expenses for work, to help his credit rating, to stay on the electoral roll.
All kinds of reasons.

Yes this is the sort of thing I was thinking Hera....
I doubt it's just a mistake.

Mrs- I'm just not sure that would be enough to sort it. I've done that before. Maybe I should ring the bank - feeling that I already tried and they told me to refer it to him.

You definitely want to return to sender, we ignored post for a previous tenant, and the bailiffs turned up. They were less scary than that sounds, but you don't want something similar to happen.

Mark it as 'moved.....return to sender'. If you have a forwarding address for him maybe hand the envelope into a local branch at let them know where he is.

chaz777 · 22/07/2017 15:43

Ok, I stand corrected..he can using your address to his advantage x

I would phone the bank tell them he is no longer at this address and you wish no further correspondce to your address.

I would also do a credit check on your address..
