CSA question!

I have been told by the CSA that I am to receive a consolidation payment! Apparently they can't possibly make my ex pay his arrears from before my case was moved to the 'new rules' system, as their computer will not let them do that. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? And WHY doesn't HE have to pay??

Well, one down two cases to go! (then there's the arrears....) But at least it's a step in the right direction!
You could also contact me at [email protected] as emails are diverted from there to my hotmail account

Just to let you know, I have received a reply from my MP to say that he has passed my complaint on to the area director and will pass it on to the Ombudsman if I don't receive a satisfactory response.
I also got a letter from the Data Protection Officer, they MUST reply to you within the 40 days so if they don't I now have a telephone number for them!

I received a copy of my files today! OMG! It is a good 20cm thick.... pages and pages of computer screen print outs.....
It is UNBELIEVEABLE what it has revealed, they have even sent correspondance to my address, in the wrong Newcastle!! I'm a Staffordshire Geordie, apparently. They appear to have been sending out giros to this address too which I have obviously never received.

Hi anniemac, the 20k is not based on an interim assessment. It is 8+ years of uncollected payments for DS1, 6 years for DD and 2+ years for DS2!! I'm supposed to be receiving 600 quid a month in maintenance at the moment, that's with 2 ex partners in very well paid employment.........
I joined NACSA about a month a go, it certainly is well worth the membership fee!

Sorry to butt in here but why would you go through the CSA if your partner is willing to pay? Is it not easier to have him pay it into your account each month? Obviously if you are on benefits then you declare it to the relevant people.

Isn't the CSA just for people that are having problems getting money out of the gits?

I'm asking this purely for my own information as I am wondering if I am wrong to trust my ex-h that he will make payment.
I've not had any luck with the CSA in two years but after (finally) talking to my ex-h he has agreed to start paying maintenance directly to me. He had not even been sent a single letter from the CSA in all that time. They couldn't explain why but acknowledged this was the case. Outrageous!

Hi littlelemon, the CSA are useless! It took them 7 years to collect ANY payments for my DD. I wish my ex would just pay me the money directly. The CSA originally were involved because I was claiming income support for a while - if you claim you have no choice!
If you sent them an application form and they did not act on it then you could make a formal complaint, but then again they do very little about complaints they receive either...........in fact 'useless' doesn't even start to cover it!
