Sounds too good to be true??

I spoke to the benefits guy this morning and apparently I can claim IS now even though I'm still living in the same house as dh. Also he said I don't have to get the CSA involved if I come to an arrangment with dh?
This is all seeming too easy and I'm worried he's making a mistake?

If you claim IS you have to inform them of your ex's details so maintenace can be sought through the csa, you wont benefit from this money apart from £10 per week, you can come to your own arrangement, but whatever he gives you will be taken off your IS. Housing benefit will pay nearly the whole of your rent when you move, but if your maintenace takes you over the IS level you cant claim it so will have to supplement your income with a part time job but you may get a housing benefit top up to help you.

When i split with ex i was told i couldn't claim IS until he had moved out

yes I thought that, sounds as if this guy needs to learn his job. I told him the things you've both said and he said I didn't need to contact CSA. I'm seeing a lone parent advisor next week so hopefully him/or her will be better informed.
