Which sites have you tried Isolde? I met a a few nice people on Guardian Soulmates, but no-one fanciable unfortunately.

There were a lot of Darcy fans on Guardian Soulmates, I have done a lot of lurking on such sites and have spotted so many cliches to avoid.

I have looked at internet dating but I live in an isolated area and the choices are rather limited! The same blokes pop up on different sites too

guess he was determined!
HAve wondered about asking a couple of friends if they know any nice blokes but
a) would feel bad if I didn't like them
b) feel worse if they didn't like me
c)would be embaressed asking

I say that life is too short and you never know - you may hit jackpot. There is no harm in asking a few friends, you just have to get over the initial embarrassment which I am sure is completely unfounded. When you have been out of the loop for a bit you have to jump into the deep end sometimes (well, that is what I did, closed my eyes, and jumped!).

nikkie · 21/01/2007 21:17

Think I've been out of the loop for more than a bit
I do have a more sympathetic friend in mind to ask anyway, don't think I'll go for the gossping one s

One of my good friends is terminallly single and her solution is to go out get pissed and man hunt which doesn't work for me.If a bloke is going to see me naked he needs to know I've had kids otherwise it'll be a big shock
Another friend triend to fix me up with this bloke at work which sort of backfired.
Other friends are all married ,mainly older more settled and think they don't really think about it that much!

I've been single for just over 5 years. I was perfectly happy being single until recently, when I've started wanting to see someone again. Never had any 'flings' in those 5 years either. I don't want a heavy, full-on relationship, just someone to see every now and again, who I know thinks a lot of me. I've got someone in mind who'd be perfect! But as he's not around much (he works away) it's a bit of a waiting game until I next see him and then I'll need to suss out whether or not he likes me, before I take the plunge and ask him out!

chloemummy · 25/01/2007 10:39

7 years I have been on my own. I have a boyfriend at the minute but I could not live him enjoy my own space too much.

nikkie · 25/01/2007 19:18
