Anyone want to High five me?!!!

Hi everyone!
This is probably absolutely rediculous, but I kind of feel proud of myself.
My H left me and the kids four months ago, and today I turfed my garden while looking after the kids ALL BY MYSELF! It sounds like a rediculous thing to be proud of, but it made me think pah! I don't need a man to help me with the hard jobs, I can do it!
Have spent the last few months wondering how the hell I am going to manage alone, and now I think I might be okay.Grin

Well done. I'm a sinegle parent too and feel quite proud that out of all my neighbours my garden is the only one with the grass cut front and back. It's the silly little things that make me smile. Smile

I'm taking my kids abroad in a month or two, long haul. I'm going to be doing all the driving and everything all by myself. We've travelled abroad before but in a safe way, no driving, family members nearby, this time it's just us Smile

floundering! I feel like I am a first time parent with regards to this new lawn! Ha ha! I am checking on it constantly, just about to water it now the sun is off it. it's hard work this gardening malarkey!Grin

A big high five here..I remember my Ex walking out when my DS was a baby..I had been asking him to fix baby gym for weeks..I decied I would fix it...It took me 4 hours and was up till midnight doing it when I had a very wakeful BF baby but remember firstly wishing I had found something easier to prove a point with but then incredibly proud..

Well done..To make sure you reward yourself whether a glass of wine or something else you would prefer

thanks everyone. It is the little things that make a huge difference, I went down to London with my 5 year old for a wedding a few weeks ago, then we had a day out going around London the next day. I was so nervous about doing the tube on my own with my DD, but was so chuffed with myself for doing it all and we had a lovely time.
it's these little things that shows me I CAN do these things alone, I may even do a holiday next summer if I can afford it.Smile

Thanks! you should've seen the state of us all by the end of it though, my DS was in heaven he stripped down to his nappy and just played in the top soil! we were covered in it and god knows what else! still trying to clean the bath! Smile

Apparently there's actually scientific reasons why playing in mud is good for you - something to do with the chemical your brain releases when playing with it iirc

Ah thanks everyone that's very kind.
I would love a mud kitchen my garden isn't big enough, but my DS does have a large plant pot full of soil that I let him dig in and fill with water, make mud pies etc.
He loves it! I have to intercept him before he runs it all through the house though! Ha! Smile
