My husband left me pregnant had an affairand cchosen her. Im so over him but now more hurt that he now has nothing to do with his child. Hes offered us 18 per week maintenance via solicitors he earns 25k! Obviously im rejecting that.
just cant get my head around how men can do this? He was a very planned baby from a relationship of 7 years....maybe its easier for him to cut off so he doesn't haveto see the damage hes done!

As he's your husband I'd say your entitled to much more than 18 a week. Have you started divorce proceedings? Spoken to a solicitor?

Him being your husband is irrelevant in terms of child maintenance. Call the CMS today, don't wait, they don't backdate claims.

Yes I agree..He is only going to pay legal minimum so get it in place asap.

Emotionally though it is very hard to understand. My advise is don't tie yourself in knots trying to understand him you never will x

this happened to me! It hurts a lot to have your baby rejected by it's dad. I spent 6 months trying to get him to acknowledge her. It was a waste of energy.....in part I blame hormones. I wrapped dd up and stood on his doorstep when she was 3 months old and ex threatened me with the police if i didn't leave. we lived across the road and he and new gf stuck their noses in the air and looked the other way when I was out with the pram.

Financially I think they feel if they don't see the child they are not responsible financially. I have contacted child maintenance options and dd is now 3. No payments made yet.

despite all the crap dd is wonderful and he is the one missing out big time. his gf came to visit with a tale of woe and he has now moved on to another poor woman.

Men disgust me. How can they claim to be any sort of father good or bad if they blatantly ignore one of their children? I'm in the same boat and I hate the man. I just pray that karma exists
