How long did it take for you to receive maintenance?

Finally rang them last Friday so only been a week.
Just curious as to how long the process takes...
Ex is on the system as he pays through them already so he shouldn't be hard to find.
He is likely to be difficult as doesn't want to give me a penny to provide for his child and so will demand dna which I am prepared to do, but I'm assuming it will be time consuming!
He may back out once he realises he will have to pay for it!! Am I right that if he backs out they then assume parentage?
Anyone know how the DNA system works?
& also how long it will take in general to receive payment?

When I applied I was asked if I was prepared for DS to have DNA test if he disputed it . He ignored letters from CSA and when they phoned him he told them it wasn't convenient to talk so they assumed parentage..

It took a couple of years for the CSA to make an assessment so I wouldn't bank on them being quick! He didn't dispute parentage or it would have been longer.

6 years and still waiting. It's just not going to happen.

Mine took about 2 months including the DNA test.

They will tell him to pay up. He gets a month to do so or to dispute like mine. Otherwise they will assume he is.
They ask both of you to nominate a GP to send the test to. He'll have to make an appointment ( within a time frame). Once he has done the test they will let you know so you can do yours. You will need a photo of your child fir the doctor to sign and you get mouth swabbed.
Results come back in 10 days to both of you.
Getting the money is the difficult bit unless he is on benefits which they deduct quite easily.
