Worried about the children

Hello, my STBXH is finally moving out on Monday after 4 unbearable months under the same roof but separated after i found out about his major infidelity and using prostitutes.
We are telling the DCs who are 4 and 2 at the weekend and in so worried and dreading it, i would never want to hurt them and in not at all sure how.they will cope, so angry i have to do this because of DH actions

Any wisdom or reassurance at all would be appreciated

Long term it's going to be okay, you just have to be strong. Perhaps you can reinforce the positives about this that will appeal to them (two lots of birthday and xmas presents, two lots of hugs and kisses....). Either way it's got to be done so get it over with.

Hi. I hope it goes ok for u this weekend. As last poster said it will be ok long term. U need to reassure them of love and that they will see daddy. I expect the 4 yr old will ask lots of questions for a good while to come. Try and not blame each other or anything in front of dcs. As hard as it is put on a united front. Hope u have rl support too

they are very young you need to talk about what is happening next week - not far away Christmas unless they specifically ask.
focus on the here and now.

daddy's moving but you will see him next Saturday to go the park.

then answer any questions they have honestly appropriate to their age.
