Thanks guys means alot, made me cry just reaidn your post SD told you i was fragile lol

I am going to speak tot he HV this week , then give it a week or so & go down to the council, my sister says i will have to have an interview with someone & explain the whole situation she is going to come with me thank god.

Jellyjelly what have you done so far? are you on the council list? & are you going to sell your house? I think if you sell your house & you make money from it, the council say they will not do anything until your money has gone, you are only allowed so much savings i think it is £3000?

My friend split from her husband & thye sold there house, she made money from her house & had to go into rented accomadation she spent her money quite fast, she brought a car & all new furniture for her house she also put savings in each of her kids banks 3000 in each & in her own, she then paid of debt & stuff & she was not able to claim houseing benefit till her money had run out. But they now pay all her rent & council tax & she is on benefits & she has 2 young kids.

goodluck its a horrible place to be, maybe we should all stay in touch on this thread & let each other know of how we are getting on & any advice from wht is happening?

xx

I havent got the house on the market because i am going to try and buy it off the lowlife tosser depending on how much he wants me to buy him out for. Was told that you have to spend all but 6k then they will help and they dont like you to pay off debts with it until they think it is necessary or when you get ccjs. Still trying to get my benefits sorted and i should be going on honeymoon today. Feeling bitter towards the shithead. Can you tell?!!

i've just had a completion date of the 28th july. That means the council have got 3 weeks to find us accomodation. I spoke to the housing dept today and they were vile, made me feel like I was a timewaster etc. been told that b and b is my only option at the mo.

got an appt on thursday with the homeless officer now.

am so scared.. if I go into b and b what will happen to my furniture

spacedonkey · 04/07/2006 17:57

oh sheep I'm sorry to hear that housing were vile to you, it does seem to be the norm I'm afraid

I'm not sure about storage for your things - it may still not happen (B&B I mean), remember I was told exactly the same thing, but ended up temporarily housed in a 2 bed flat. I really think they do it to put off potential timewasters, which is terribly cruel. Hopefully the homelessness person will be more sympathetic (I found that once I had got over the initial hurdle they were much nicer).

Good luck and let us know how you get on ((( sheep )))

we've exchanged contracts!!!!!!!!

I've got until 26 th july to find somewhere.. this is when I start panicking

deep breaths sheep ... see how your meeting with the homelessness person goes tomorrow, I am praying for you that they are helpful and sympathetic
