So I'll start

Recently I...

Travelled from Edinburgh to Portsmouth by train with baby in buggy and dog by bus train and tube (yes I failed my driving test again Grin)

Have been mowing my lawn

Conquered (or surrendered to) alopecia by shaving my head and leaving myself with nothing but a punky fringe and a few dreads at my nape. Then continued life as normal in a poor shocked wee village Shock

Got 2 piercings

Fixed washing machine

Fixed Hoover

So what are you proud of yourself for?

Did you conquer that spider? Smile

I have been a single parent for the last 7 years, since DD was 1. In that time I have:

-Moved house 3 times on my own
-Taken DD to Disneyland Paris for a few days
-Had several other holidays, some with friends/family but lots on our own
-Changed careers and got a lovely job in DD's school which fits in with our lives perfectly

  • Made new friends and developed a bit of a social life for myself
  • Decorated my whole flat and put together loads of flat pack furniture
  • Completed 2 NVQs and passed them both

Thank you for this thread, it is lovely to read and I really need reminding of some of the things I have done well right now Thanks.

Ds is 18 and been lone parent since he was almost 2. I went to uni when ds was 2 1/2. Then worked in the media and charities. Ds is off to uni having gotten 2 A's and A* in his A Level. I've just finished another degree. The last year I was pregnant (r/s didn't work out) and seeing clients. Studied up until 3 weeks before dd was born. Got a 2.1. Just need to finish some clinical hours and I'll be qualified. Quite a year I can tell you :)
