The last time I did a form whilst working they didn't want to know if I had a childminder or after school club set up cause in their words they "don't pay for that" so why am I being told by them that they need to see my childcare invoices in order to help pay my rent Hmm

I wonder if they use it to get a clearer picture of your income. If you were saying you paid childcare and didn't, you might have a higher income than you were claiming and not qualify for help.

I think, if you are paying for registered childcare it can increase the amount of housing you may be eligible for. If you play around on entitled to and add childcare, the housing element seems to go up.

Something to do with being a deduction from your earnings?

ThePskettiIncident · 21/07/2013 08:37

It's a deduction from your earnings, because they calculate your hb based on their notion of a disposable income (ha bloody ha).

They disregard your childcare as income so you get more benefit if you prove what you pay for childcare.
