EXP leaving son to go traveling ??

leaharrison11 · 21/03/2013 15:02

So my EXP has informed me that he is going traveling to Thailand and OZ for at least 6 months, in doing this he will obvs be not seeing DS, he only see's him 5 hours a week as it is and that was me pushing him threw a solicitor to take responsibility and to see DS on a regular bases.

My DS loves routine as he is going threw a diagnosis for Aspergers he is only 15 months and only being EXP regularly for the last 5 week and now he has booked to go traveling in june so wont even be here for DS 2nd bday !

I don't really no why I'm posting i just wanted your opinion on it really , if I'm honest I'm not that bothered because he hasn't been in DS live a lot but i think its wrong that he thinks he can just bugger off and come and be a dad again ??

What are ur thoughts on this ?

Oh darling that is shite. Your x is clearly a twat of the first degree. I hope you have lots of rl help and support.

He is a twat ! And not really me DS are on our own but that doesn't bother me his dad has never helped and never been supportive ( since i took his life away ) i just think its wrong that he can pack up leave and then expect to come in DS life ? Is it even aloud ??

you cant get aspergers diagnosis at 15 months. even if he is autistic -well he will be ok; and one thing he needs to get used to is people coming in and out of his life (my oldest is ASD an SLD and does miss people) - but honestly at fifteen months he will be fine.

if dad is going to be a pop in and out person -well so be it. nothing you can do.

carry on without him.

Bit harsh cestlavie! Its not 'people' coming in and out of his life its his father Confused

LH just do the best you can. Some people make shit parents, there are no laws to stop people being shit parents though I'm afraid.

Cestlavi my son IS going threw a diagnosis your more than welcome to come here every week to speak to speak to his portage worker and doctors we see!

And yes he does have to get used to people coming and going but not his farther his farther isnt people !

I will continue to do best by him im just hurt that his "farther" can up and leave and not give a jolly about DS and then expect to just come back and play dad again ! Thanks for the support everyone else

That's really shit, and really annoying that his father can just go and do what he wants without consequences. When your son gets older he will come to see that his father is the one in the wrong, but for now have you much support?

leaharrison11 · 21/03/2013 19:12

Erm not really and tbf his dad hasnt ever been supportive so not gonna be missing alot! Iv got my mum close by but shes got a little one her self ! Its not him not being here to support thats hurts me cus he never has done its the fact that he can leave our son after only having responsible access for 5 weeks and then come back and think he can carry on as normal! Hes not on the BC so he says he can do it cus he hasnt got parental responsibility
