Mothers day

So ladies what are your mothers day plans. Iv had a beautiful hand print card made my DS 15 months in playgroup so im over the moon with that and also not having to buy my own again this year haha.

Have any of you planned to do something on sunday im hoping to go and have a picnic in the park but thats weather depending. I just want it to be really special :)

Nothing as ex has insisted in changing contact weekends so he & ds(14) can do something with his family.

Bright right at the start I made a rule that big days happened for myself and DD when we choose to celebrate them not when the calendar told us to. So chat with your DS and explain that 'your mothers day' will actually be a different Sunday.
I actually have one of DD's friends as her older sister is a swimmer and it is county championships this weekend. We will have a nice lunch and walk the dog.

I take comfort in the fact that ExH will have to do everything for his mother after years of me buying the card and cooking for her. At least I only have to cook for 3 rather than 6!

Well after having ex eff and jeff at me when I asked if I could have boys at home on Sunday, and offered him Saturday instead...

I am going to church in the morning, the local cub pack normally give out flowers to all the mums, and they are doing cake afterwards.
Then in the afternoon we are going to my mums and having a craft afternoon. Then I can make something for Mum, and she'll help the boys make something for me as ex refuses to take them out to buy things, 'it's not my fucking job is it'

I'm looking forward to it :)

DS chose a card for me today whilst I pretended not to look. He can decorate it in whatever way he wishes tomorrow

Other than that, I think we'll go out for a walk with my DM and maybe a slice of cake somewhere. I don't expect anything else but would kill for a lie in as he's 2!

Well thankfully exh has gone on holiday so I will be taking my bloody amazing mum to the Eden project on Sunday so she can frolic with me and the dds and eat v tasty but cheap food dd1 has made a card with dm and I think also with dickwad exh because he is in Disney dad mode.

I am going to my mums. I shall be shopping for her on saturday and cooking roast dinner on sunday. mothering sunday will be harder work than normal weekends!

probably drowning my sorrows - DCs with ex and this is first Mothers Day without my mum. finding it very hard to see all the cards and pressies in the shops.

Doing absolutely nothing. Feeling pants about the whole thing to be honest.
I had thought of taking the kids out for a day just the 4 of us and surprising them with something fun...but now it's set to bucket down with rain all weekend, and even the local pub is showing football ALL weekend so don't fancy going over for a quiet meal there either.

My lovely Mum drove over yesterday from an hour away and took my DS (4) shopping after school. There is now a big parcel in my cupboard and she has given him strict instructions to give it to me on Sunday. Then we will probably have a quiet day on the sofa watching films and eating chocolate!

at piemothers Eden Project visit. We only get to go on our regular cornish summer holiday. We love it there!

I'm taking the DC's out for a meal on sunday, either pizza express or wagamama's. 6yo DS is funny, he said "I'm not allowed to give you the card until sunday", my mum has trained him well. DD insisted she gave me her card yesterday.

I've been moping that I've never had a cup of tea in bed, let alone breakfast in bed, since I've had DC's. (XP told me to fuck off when I wanted him to get up at weekends).

It dawned on me that all I have to do is save my pennies up and book a stay in a nice hotel for me and the dc's the day before mothers day and arrange for breakfast room service . It'll be the most expensive breakfast in bed but the way I'm feeling these days it'll probably be worth it.

TheyDeserve so sorry, it must be really hard.

Those of you whose exes are having the kids on Mother's Day, I hope you're going to 'return the favour' and insist they stay with you for Father's Day .

I'm on my own for mothers day, as my own is away on holiday. I doubt very much if my usless ex will have bothered to post a card from Dd. Thank goodness for my amazing mum, who has left a bounty of goodies for me from Dd.

I bought my own present a lovely Kath bag I've wanted it for ages.The children are at their dads First year for me alone However mothers day has always been shit any way so it's already better.On my first mothers day stbex did nt think to organise anything so I had a massive paddy it's been pretty much like that since.
Hope other woman does nt think he's going to pull out the stops she will get a nasty surprise.
Oh and today CSA phoned and told me I should be getting some maintence pitiful amount that it is I'm just happy to be getting any so Happy mothers day to me

DS is at his dads so I am laying in bed in a quiet house with a cup of tea - bliss
DS and I went out to buy me a pressie last week and he did a card at school. He is home later and we are going to celebrate by having a bath with a bath bomb, oh we know how to live here
How is everyone else's day?

Well, the DC's somehow convinced me to make them pancakes for breakfast, they've strewn Lego everywhere and DD walloped DS with a toy broom and he had a nose bleed.

All in all, I'd say it's about normal .

I don't take great stock in Mother's Day as I a confident my own Mum knows how appreciated she is as I tell her virtually daily.

In my fantasy Mother's Day though, I'd have someone living at home with me who would bring me breakfast in bed and basically then play Mum for the rest of the day after booting me off to a spa for a massage and all sorts of lovely therapeutic and beauty treatments, and I can come home to happy, fed children already in bed, their school uniforms washed and laid out ready for the morning, and his shirt off and a glint in his eye perhaps

This is my second Mother's Day as a single parent and also without my mom but I have a lovely dd who arranged for child Santa to come. She made me leave some milk and cookies out and then go to bed so she could arrange it. I did find a trail of sugar was snow turned into sugar. Ds was on a sleepover and came back at 8 to find dd at the door telling him to help her make tea, cereal and a boiled egg and then they brought pressies and breakfast up. I realise how lucky I am to have two such caring kids. DD had also made a card and pressie to take to my moms grave so we went and then I treated them to an Italian meal. Best Mother's Day ever and no moaning ex-h. I did get the kids to ring his mum though. Love me kids.
