Am going to mediation soon. Has anyone else experienced this and how did it go?

Mediation didn't work for us (because my NSDH is an abusive twat) BUT the mediator was excellent, she got the measure of both of us, was fair, clear and stood for no nonsense (so NSDH got thrown out!).

I think if your mediator is good and you are both there in order to reach an agreement then mediation is definitely a good idea.

Good luck

PS I saved us hundreds of pounds by going prepared with all bank figures, pensions, income, assets, debts etc documented and copied. Birth, marriage certs, an estimate of the house's worth: might be worth doing the same?

Thanks for your advice ladies but ex just informed me that he got the letter about mediation and will be going to the free session but not the ones that charge as he has no money (he has plenty but laways pleads poverty and always will). He also said he will not go within 100 yards of a court when I told him thats where it could end up. He wants to negoitiate with me without paying legal fees. What an *ss !!!

Even one session might get a bit of information to get the ball rolling then you can gird your loins and take him to court. If he doesn't instruct/turn up then it will be much more expensive for him.
