Books for single parent families?

Can anyone recommend any? Not really looking for those 'issue books' or one explaining what divorce is etc, just books which aren't 'mummy and daddy, mummy and daddy, mummy and daddy'..

Ds is 21 months, it's probably more for me than him, I love Janet and Allen Ahlberg and it's making me feel shit every time we read them Blush

Really I'd just like a few books with a single parent just getting on with things, where it's normal and not an issue if anyone can recommend any?

Big Bear Little Bear are fun - Big Bear is a single Dad, one of the stories is the pair of them cleaning up the cave, Big Bear finishes and goes to sit on the bear rock and watch Little Bear play, but falls asleep... Mind, they used to really play on my heart strings the first few times I read them to DD.

Thank you both, am going to give Doing the Garden and Big Bear Little Bear a go at the library :)

We are wearing out the naughty step.

I haven't seen a Dad in the Harry & the dinosaurs books yet.

There is a series of books by Sarah Garland

She is a single Mum with two children, lovely pictures as well

i have a few favourites

"why I love my mummy"
"my mum is great" ( I believe in starting the propaganda early)
"no matter what" debbi gilori - small and large so gender neutral
My family by Todd parr is also a good book for younger children as it is colourful and highlights all sorts of families
