Hi, I work for a small charity in Newcastle upon Tyne, and am also a lone parent of a 13 yr old.
The charity currently provides therapeutic counselling services for children in Newcastle, our current trustees are keen to support a lone parent group again as this would take us back to the reasons we were initially founded.
The aim is to set up a lone parent group initially for mutual support, we can pool our experiences, knowledge and skills, to then support newer/less experienced lone parents.
What it will not be, is just a group for outings and trips, although we can do some of that too when funds allow.
The first meeting for this group will be on Thurs 19th Jan at 10am, there will be a creche provided for the first meeting.
