that's it really!

Owes years... lives outside UK and the courts are now looking at ex's appeal! What grounds does ex not have to pay?
Ex already said ds is his so can't go down DNA path. Also works fulltime in high paid job so can afford to support ds but chooses not to or acknowledge ds's existence!

Let's hope he's forced now to pay. How long have you been in the process?

I'm in Ireland, he's in the UK. Started the process in May. Just terrible we have to resort to these measures.

Best of luck with it. Keep us posted, hopefully you will have good news asap.

well hence name I choose...not very good experience...court mistakes costing ds thousands in lost maintenance....also 3 solicitors and private eye costing me thousands ...7 years later still no money!

It depends on if your ex is a waste of space and will do anything not to pay including now appealing

I don't expect anything now and has been hassle, aggression from ex from start to finish....this is the last attempt before I give up totally on the system.

Sorry to be so negetative but can't be anything else tbh about it

Good luck though

Doomsday if he's not paying you anything and you're in Ireland surely you're entitled to single parent allowance which makes up for the lack of money from him?

newhorizon · 18/12/2011 12:40

I think Doomsday is in the UK, so I'm not sure how the system works.

Here in Ireland, you're not entitled to single parents allowance unless you're below a certain earning threshold, which as you can imagine is practically the poverty line. You are entitled to single parents tax allowance, which doesn't amount to much.

Doesn't really make-up for not receiving child maintenance though

Wittsend13 · 18/12/2011 13:53

Horizon it's about €250 a week so it's better than nothing plus you get your cb. I'm still awaiting an answer since aug.. It's still better than nothing Smile

Wittsend13 · 18/12/2011 13:54

Ps horizon I was told by the welfare officer single parent benefit is what's in place for those not receiving maintenance.

newhorizon · 18/12/2011 20:50

Yes, but as I said if you work and earn over the threshold you are not entitled to lone parents unfortunately. I'm in the same situation as doomsday chasing child maintenance in a foreign country, it's no joke but a minefield.

Wittsend13 · 18/12/2011 20:55

I'll let you know how I get on with that as I'll be doing just that shortly. I'm not holding my breath though.
