Single parents in scotland

Is there anyone out there? I'm a new parent and while during the week I keep busy with baby groups etc I'm finding the weekends really long. Would anyone fancy arranging a meet up occasionally?

I'm in Edinburgh. I actually know quite a few other single mums here. Was thinking of putting a single parents group on meetup a while back though as it would be nice to have a get-together where I didn't have the initial worry of 'will people disapprove of me for not having a man in the house' type nonsense. (I think there are lots of single mums round where I live now, as it's considered to be a 'rough area' by Edinburgh standards, but er, have not really met any to talk to as there aren't many toddler groups- however I met lots at groups when I was living in Newington area). I could do the meetup thing and post a link if anyone's interested?

I would love to meet up with other single mums as I feel very isolated. The area I live in seems to be populated by purely 2.4 children type families! Plus all my friends are married. I have one DS who is six

Hi, don't know if this thread is still active or not - I live in Irvine, North Ayrshire. I'm widowed with a young daughter of 3 years old. I also find weekends really long and quite tedious and would really welcome some adult company whilst the little one's play.
