Am recently separated; will be getting divorced. this is all new to me - is there an amount, by law, which ex has to pay to me and 2 DC?

When DB was getting divorced he told me there was a formula based on a percentage of income but have no idea what it is. Sorry not very useful.

There is indeed a formula based on his income. Try here for the Child Support Agency's online calculator.

Unless you are awarded spousal support (usually only high earners) as part of the financial settlement element of the divorce, it is unlikely he will have to pay anything to you.

Have a look at the CSA calculator in respect of the children. This shows you what it would be through the CSA. its usually 20 something percent of his NET earnings for two children, less an amount if they stay with Ex for a certain number of nights (what they call shared care). You can set this up as a private arrangement if things are relatively amicable or choose to go through the CSA
