My DS's are with their dad this weekend, for the first time in 3 years or so.....I feel so worried and out of sorts, i know they will be fine but i just feel like I have given him my most precious gifts and I MISS THEM.

I am genuinely pleased that he is now able to have them over regularly again but i had forgotten how empty the house seems without them.

hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs..... Huge day for you. Run yourself a gorgeous bath, bubbles, raid chocolate, make tea, grab a trashy book/ magazine and indulge in some relaxation. Write down a list of stuff you haven't been able to find time to do, read, look into all that stuff and when your feeling a little lost start ticking off the list. If you have this handy for Ex's weekends you will be able to fill in the time. Get in touch with some friends you haven't chatted to in ages. Plan a dinner or day out with someone. Find something that excites you and get involved.

ahhh bless you mama i have been emailing some friends and drinking wine and eating chocolate. i'm having a lie in tomorrow and am actually GOING OUT tomorrow night! going to wear my purple dress. Also going to make damson jam.

It gets easier, in fact it also becomes fun. Time with the children is so much sweeter when you also have time without, it's a good recharge for our batteries. If your kids are happy, then concentrate on you for a while - it's rare we're able to do so and we rapidly get out of the practice.

thanks, i did have a good rest- i wasnt well enough to go out in the end but i got dressed and did make u anyway. boys came back and younger one has decided he wants to live with his dad-out of the question and i doubt his dad will want to. think its a case of grass is greener.

My friend views it as her 'time off' she works hard as a lone parent and this is the time she uses to have a sunbed,go shopping,watch crap tv......all the stuff she might be able to do if she had a partner who pulled his weight.
