Have just plucked enough enough courage to send an email to my ex suggesting an amount for maintenance and that I have contacted child maintenance options re maintenance payments advise.
Quite proud of myself as he's given me nothing to date and and we (me and ds) moved out of family home in Jan. Only moved because we couldn't afford it and since then he's moved his fiancee in anyway. We split in Sept last year.
Lets hope the fireworks don't start flying..

Stay calm, don't rise to any nasty comments. If he starts getting nasty tell him to put any proposals down in writing for you to look at so you aren't hassled into agreeing to anything that is less than fair. It's DS's money, he's entitled to it, good parents support their children.

OK? And well done.

Thank-you, wonder how long it will take him to respond. I guess if I've heard nothing by end of May its the CSA but will cross that bridge......

Yes, stick to your guns Smile.

If it does end up having to go to the csa type yourself up a little spreadsheet so you can log when you called them and what info has been discussed. I had lots of info on my XP so the csa claim was 8 weeks from start to first payment.

Top tip, thanks. :)

Just a thought - why not get the forms and fill them in ready? Then if he messes you about or doesn't make a fair offer you don't have to worry/think about it, you can just bang the envelope in the post.
