Just a thought but would anyone be interested in a house swap for a week for a holiday?

yes but i live in Australia. not sure if that would work logistically.

Bluemoonrising · 25/04/2011 13:23

Whereabouts are you? What kind of places would you like to visit?

Loobyloo1902 · 25/04/2011 14:49

I'm on the edge of London within walking distance of the tube and Epping Forest, I'd kind of fancy a short break in Devon or Cornwall, perhaps the Lakes or Yorkshire? I'd be open to any ideas!

What about a scottish island?

Joelybear · 25/04/2011 17:08

I could offer a Scottish Island!

Bluemoonrising · 25/04/2011 17:27

I would be interested in swapping an abode on a scottish island for one in or near kirkton of glenisla in August.. if anyone was interested!

Loobyloo, what about Cheshire....10 min train ride to Manchester, panoramic views of the Peak district, massive trampoline?

I did a house swap (well, a one-sided one) with another Mumsnetter last year, where we went down to Luton to dog sit whilst she went to France with her family. I'm sure she would agree that we are lovely and house trained Grin

mamas12 · 25/04/2011 17:40

Louby how far from the tube are you and how long would it take you to get into London?

I can offer a fabulous welsh market town with castles and beautiful countryside and boutique shops.

NOmeansNO · 25/04/2011 18:31

i'd love to do this, but wouldn't want to subject you to my neighbour who complained i shouldn't flush my toilet through the night after 10pm as it wakes her Hmm

Loobyloo1902 · 25/04/2011 18:32

Now we're talking!

I'm 5 minutes' walk from the tube and from there, 40 minutes to central London. My offer comes with a nice garden and a cat.

If anyone's keen, would you like to PM me? I'd say yes to scottish islands, welsh market towns and Cheshire and can be flexible on dates if that helps.

Oh and I'd say yes to Australia as well although with a little planning...

Looby, we have a mahoosive cat too so it would be nice to know that she was cared for.

We can do mid-august to the beginning of the school term (7th Sept).

We're Australian too so I could lend you my passport Wink

Will pm you.

hi, that sounds a fantastic idea...house swopping holidays in august.
i live in a very boring house (not really doing the selling pitch thing well!) in kent. very close to leeds castle, a hour from london by train and about half an hour from the seaside. takes about 50 minutes to get fron here to dover for a day trip to france.....would be more than willing to consider the idea of a house swop anywhere in uk during school holidays x

Mumfun · 25/04/2011 21:40

ooh! Marking my place on here. Would be offering place in zone 3 London with excellent transport links and trampoline and swing! MIght be interested in Edinburgh in August.

Hello, good sized 2 bed maisonette in sunny south devon Grin, would love to swap with similar in wales or scotland ideally for a holiday in the summer.

I have to admit that I am not very houseproud, and while I will not trash someone elses place, mine will be homely but not perfect. I have 1 DS (8) and one cat.
