Can I change a court hearing date?

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone happpens to know if it is possible to change a court date, for a defined contact order, If I am going to be abroad on holiday at the time?

You (or your solicitor?) can contact the court and ask for the hearing to be deferred but not sure if you can guarantee it will happen.

AFAIK, you should be asked if you are unavailable on any dates before it is set. Or maybe that's just criminal stuff Confused

What is AFAIK?

Yes, I do have a solicitor and I booked the holiday before I knew we were even going to have a defined contact hearing.

I think i will cry (even more!) if I have to cancel. The whole court thing is difficult enough :(
