Hello, am looking to share a house/ flat in East or North London. I am a single mother of a nearly 4 year old boy. I am a musician and am studying for a PhD so my budget is a little limited but think I could stretch to £500. We were very clear up front that we've got a DC and so people would need to like living with children.

This summer we ended up sharing with a lovely Spanish couple - both teachers, he's a nursery teacher. Also another couple who are just lovely and our DC adores. It's worked out really well. The Spanish couple have gone back to Spain now and we've got a student moving in this weekend who seems lovely and has promised occasional baby sitting!

Ideally we'd have preferred to share with someone with children, but we had to find people in a hurry. Hopefully next year.

Some people think we're mad to share, but we really like it. It's been brilliant for DS, he loves having lots of people around and it's enabled us to live in a much nicer environment with much more space than we could ever afford on our own.
