Hello!

I’m in desperate need of a new hairdresser in north or central London ideally. I’ve been highlighting my hair for decades and this year a combo of stress, perimenopause and weight loss has left my hair thin frizzy and very sad looking.

anybody have any suggestions for an excellent hairdresser that does brilliant colour AND can offer some advice or treatment to my very sad poor condition hair?

thanks!

What’s your budget?

If generous, Dan at Josh Wood is a great colourist

Good point! I actually don’t have one this time as it feels so awful I really just want someone who can make me look slightly less bedraggled! What sort of price are we taking at Josh Wood for highlights and cut?

My friend goes to to the vidal sasoon academy where students practice. They are closely monitored and she has never had a problem.
I used to go to a different training school because I was so sick of not finding a good hair dresser. The appointments often took longer, but they are great value, so it depends if you are time poor or not. ://academy.sassoon-global.com/model-appointments.html

I should add that I never had a bad cut or colour at the training salon compared to local hair salons. I lived between zone 1-2 for 18yrs. I tried the cheap, local salon, higher end expensive places and lots in between. As soon as I'd find someone I liked- they'd leave or they were a locum.

I finally found somewhere I didn't mind. Close to work and I could go at lunch for a blow dry. I had foils done and it was awful. they over processed it and my hair came out with the foils- but they didn't tell me! She then claimed it was my porous hair at fault- despite them doing a test a week beforehand and always saying how wonderful and thick my hair was. Long story short, no, I can't recommend a regular salon.

Dan for a tint, I want to say 130 or 150?

I used to see Jay for 190, but he’s moved and is impossible to book with
