What to do in London between hotel checkout and a wedding?

Have to check out of hotel at 10am but wedding in Stepney isn’t until 3pm - will be all dolled up with nowhere to go for a few hours (in the heat!) Could stretch brunch out for an hour or 2, but then? Suggestions gratefully received (I’ll have my 12 yr old granddaughter with me). Hotel can’t accommodate a later check out unfortunately.

Genesis Cinema https://share.google/sOH1bqTrgFOeYDELv ?

Where are you staying? I’d do something like a museum or cinema near you where you’re staying, then have a long ish lunch at 1 then head to the wedding.

I would pass the time in Gilbert and George but it probably wouldn’t appeal to a typical 12 year old. Cinema is a great suggestion unless you never go to London and want to sightsee. In which case I would ride double decker buses past some of the major sites.

Extend checkout?

Maybe look for Dayuse Hotel Rooms.

Toy Museum in Bethnal Green.

It's not forecast to be exceptionally hot in London (If it's tomorrow, that is.) You should be fine as long as you don't do anything too energetic. You could find a shady spot to sit and people watch for an hour or so.

23 /24 in London will still be uncomfortable..
Especially if dressed up.
All those buildings and hard surfaces will be radiating the heat they've built up over the last couple of weeks.

Art gallery? Lots of airconditioned art galleries available!

Where is the hotel?

Also, this is free if not too hot: https://stepneycityfarm.org/

Where are you staying on the wedding night, if staying over in another hotel can you get earlier check in there?

Yes I was thinking this. Go on to your next hotel and pay for an early check in there.

Somewhere cool and air conditioned. I’d give the city farm a miss in wedding clothes! It’s a bit steamy in London right now and will remain that way even though it will be cooler.

Cinema sounds a good idea if you can find something suitable between times. Can vouch for the Wallace and Gromit exhibition which was great fun.

Dayuse.co.uk can organise you short time family room rental if you'd rather just chill, watch tv etc.

She said in the post they can’t.

If you do head for Young V&A do check opening times as they have been affected by the hot weather.
