Hi all, me and DH are looking at Barnet as a potential living locations. Good connection for him to drive to work and still a good link into London for me a few days a week and to see our friends that live in north London. We just don’t know the area well. We ideally want somewhere with nice outdoors, cafes and few nice shops! We’ve seen it has a market every weekend and Waitrose and few nice pubs. But what are people’s experiences and areas? Houses fall in our budget as we can go up to 1.2m. But Barnet is huge! So far I think Hadley and High Barnet is most doable but open to suggestions. Thank you

Mill Hill. Golders Green, Hampstead Garden Suburb. What sort of property are you looking for, you'd get a flat further in Refents Park, Hampstead area.

Whetstone would fit your bill.
Maybe MIll Hill but there’s no tube, only main line
East Finchley
Temple Fortune area (NW11)
Some parts of Finchley Central near Stephen’s Gardens are nice, others are a bit grotty.
Really depends on budget and what rail/tube links you need.

East barnet. Lovely parks. Few tube acces with picadilly or.northern line. Mainline railway. Nice feel to the area and friendly.
