I dont get into london often so dont knownit very well, I am travelling for work, arrive Tuesday evening around 6pm, have an event in Westminster at 1pm Wednesday, home after. Staying in Paddington area, near Hyde Park. Any recommendations for food in the area? Maybe take away I can eat in the hotel, can I walk through the park in the evening? (Our local big park closes at 6pm in winter) anywhere nice to go for a wonder in the eve? Maybe something Christmasy!
The Wednesday morning, any suggestions? Won't have a big bag with me, leaving at a locker.

Happy to use the underground or walk.

I'd walk through Hyde park, look at booking winter wonderland, harrods is open till 9pm, the food hall is amazing. You're spoilt for choice for food, what sort of food do you like. Do you know which part of Paddington and which end of Hyde park. In the morning I'd visit shepherd's market, walk through Green park and St James park or through the shops at Burlrington arcade and jermyn street through to Westminster.

You could also pop into fortnum and mason and get yourself a treat in the morning

There are hundreds of choices on Deliveroo/Uber Eats, including Michelin starred restaurants, if you want a takeaway.
If you want a restaurant in walking distance, Paddington Basin, Connaught village, St Christopher’s Place, Lancashire Court, and Marylebone High Street/Lane all have lots of good restaurants (and websites listing them). Shepherd Market, Fitzrovia and Soho are a couple of bus or tube stops away. Mercato Mayfair might be a good place for solo dining. The Cubitt House pubs, The Victoria or The Audley are good for a cosy glass of mulled wine.

The shops on and around Oxford Street are open until 9pm or there is Winter Wonderland if you want something to do in the evening that is within walking distance. What do you like doing? Museums, art galleries, shopping, ice skating, Christmas markets, theatre or shows? I would look in Time Out for a candlelight concert or carol service or a candlelight tour of a museum eg Sir John Soanes House, if I wanted to do something Christmassy alone.
