My mum has an outpatient appointment at UCH next week and is likely to be there for up to 4 hours. We need to travel from Essex; she has restricted mobility so train/tube isn’t an option as she wouldn’t manage to walk. It looks like I will have to drive and drop her off at the hospital and then pick her up when the procedure is done.
Is there anywhere I can go to wait? I was thinking of popping up to Brent Cross but think this may be a bit too far. Are there similar options that are a little nearer?
If not, I am of course happy to pay for parking but just wondering if there are other options?

Edit - I've re-read your post and realise you want ideas of places you can drive to easily rather than get to to pass the time. So ignore what I've said. You're likely to spend all day in traffic I suspect if you do that. Do you have to drive? Would assistance at the train station either end then a taxi from Liverpool Street (I assume Liv. St) door to door not be an option?

Original message -
If you want a shopping centre then Stratford Westfield would be much quicker. Walk to St Pancras then 7 minutes on the train.

Other nearby options for passing the time you have the British Museum close by or the Wellcome which always has interesting exhibitions. Or the British Library.

The Friends meeting house is a nice cafe nearby.

I would just pay for parking (it's JUST in the congestion zone so watch out) and walk nearby - museums, Oxford St, Bloomsbury, TCR, Soho

There’s free parking on the east side of Hampstead Heath (Hampstead Lane). You could visit Kenwood House (free) which has great coffee and art collection.
