Looking for advice on where to buy a house for good family atmosphere and schools.
Working dad (City 1-2 days pw), SAHM and one DD aged 15m. Probably another in about 2 years.
I've looked at two broad areas.
- SW - Carshalton/Sutton/Worcester Park
- East - Emerson Park/Gidea Park/Hornchurch
Budget is about 650k.
Looking for 3-4 rooms, 2 bath, small garden. Large open kitchen & living room space. Ideally a leafy street, a bit away from noise with a driveway.
SW is presumably nicer for green areas and schools, but quite pricey and might be a financial stretch, as nicer homes are closer to 700k. Would be tight for family. SW is closer to my network.
East seems like you get more for your money and still decent schools etc. East is closer to my wife's network.
Examples of houses I've seen that fit the bill are on
Osborne Rd - Hornchurch
Windborough Rd - Carshalton
Any advice on either group of areas, specific streets and the school catchments etc is welcome.
