Mosquito bites in central london

I live in central london, right by the thames. Commute to work on the underground. Work in a high rise block.

I keep getting bitten by mosquitos. The bites get super angry and are like the ones I’ve had in tropical places like Thailand.

Is anyone else suffering?

I'm not in London but I've had the most bites in my life this year, even worse than when I've been abroad. They've left my legs covered in horrid looking, purple scars which are still itchy weeks after initial bite heals.

I don't know if I'm overly sensitive to them but the site of the bite always swells massively for over a week. Seems so much worse than mosquito bites in previous years.

I had the same - incidentally moved away from the river and noticed I didn’t have any bites anymore. I’m convinced there are some new aggressive breed in the Thames.

Yep, in an inner suburb of London within about 200m of the Thames and I have a huge one on my wrist. I haven’t had one this bad in years.

I work in the city and there was an actual mosquito wafting around my desk this morning!

I'm not at the moment. I am careful to shut my window the night after rain as i have been bitten lots when I haven't.

When I have been bitten they are like you say huge and red and hot and painful. I found germaline worked well to sooth and shrink.

Harvest mites

are they day time bites or evening bites? the day time mosquitoes could be tiger mosquitos - I think the bites come up very fast but also go down fast with a bit of anthisan

DD2 bitten by tick in Victoria Park. Late July. Now has Lyme’s disease. Be careful out there.
