Hi all, we are currently moving to a London. We have a 7 year old boy and identifying a school basis all the information online has been craaaaaazy. There’s just so much data that my brain seems to be tumbling out! I’m looking at Greenwich and Orpington as 2 places to live at. Would love inputs on a) if you know great primary schools at either of these places through a trusted source b) any other large differences between these 2 areas that I should be mindful of

Thanks!!!

Greenwich - as in the centre? James Wolfe is a good primary school. If you plan to stay there for secondary schools then you'll need to investigate that.
Orpington - no idea sorry.

Orpington and Greenwich are very different. Orpington is zone 6, Greenwich more urban.

There are nice parts and less nice parts of Orpington. The Knoll and Petts Wood are lovely with spacious detached or semi houses with lovely gardens and properties for example, but some areas more gritty with ex-LA flats and council blocks.

Crofton is a great primary school. You theb also have grammar options for secondary.

I’ve lived in the leafier parts or Orpington all my life and love the offerings in Petts Wood with independent shops, nice restaurants, clubs for children and adults, tennis courts, parks and woodlands, safe, excellent train links. You get a lot for your money compared to further in London.
