We've taken DS to The Ivy Cafe many times including as a baby - there's one by Tower Bridge.

Lots of good places down Bermondsey Street. José has really good tapas and you can book (which you can’t for lots of places in the area). Or Tapas Brindisa which is right by Borough Market. I’d also recommend Santo Remedio, a Mexican place near London Bridge, or El Pastor. None of these are super smart though.

If you want smarter I’d probably pick somewhere riverside with an outdoor terrace as BLW mess may go down better outside! eg Pont de la Tour, Oxo Tower, Legare.

London Eye area is more chains generally. But there’s a good looking brunch place called the Black Penny.

Friends of ours used to rate the Wolseley for dining with their toddlers / babies. They had lots of weekend visitors they needed to meet for brunch and they were always lovely and welcoming / accommodating. Its not in the right area but probably falls into the 'special enough' category to be more of an event.

Ivy Asia at One New Change is good, with spectacular views of St Paul’s right next to it. Special but not super formal.

Not particularly fancy, but you could try and book an igloo at Coppa Club Tower Bridge. Worked very well with a 2 year old.
