Anyone in Blackheath? Groups for families & mums?

Hi, I've recently moved to Blackheath with my DH and our 2 year old. We don't know anyone in the area and have no family close by. Does anyone know of friendly community groups or other events / groups for us to check out? We are looking for things for our toddler and also for us / me. I work part-time and stay at home mum part-time.

I'd love to meet new people and potentially make new friends / mum friends.

Hoping DS will be going to John Ball school eventually.

Thank you!

Hi @NewbietoSE3 , welcome to the neighborhood. We are in a similar space. My daughter is 15 months old and looking to make mum friends. DM me, would love to meet up.

Hello both! I’m moving to Blackheath within the next few weeks and was wondering if you had any tips of any community groups? Any top tips for families new to the area?

Hi I've just moved to the area as well! I have a 7 week old, wondering if there are any mom groups I can join. Alternatively if someone on this forum would be open to meetup 💜

Hello there! We just moved to Blackheath (near Royal Standard) and I’d love to meet new people too! I have got 2 daughters (4 and 2) should we organise a meet up? What about Blackheath Library?

Hi everyone! I live locally with a 2yo (and one due in October). If you PM me I can ask if you can be added to the WhatsApp group for local mums if you want?

There are some really lovely local playgroups, eg St Margaret’s runs one in Kingswood Halls on a Monday and Wednesday (although it’s off for the summer now). The conservatoire also does some good (but somewhat expensive) classes. Lochaber hall also has some good toddler classes. There’s also (a bus ride away) stay and play gymnastics and soft play in Sutcliffe Park leisure centre.

In Greenwich park there are Play Tuesdays at the National Maritime museum, and I think the Cutty Sark also runs some toddler groups.

…as you can tell, my toddler likes activities 😅
