I thinking of moving to somewhere quiet the Riddlesdown/Purley area. But do you get noise from low flying aircraft around there?

No, not really.

We used to live near Purley Oaks station, so the South Croydon side of Purley rather than Riddlesdown, but certainly never heard low flying aircrafts there to the extent that I had to really think why you'd be asking but I guess you've seen the RAF aerodrome on a map? I don't think it's used very often - we used to go up there for walks or when I was doing couch to 5k for an easy flat running space, and it was always full of dog walkers rather than planes!

Do you mean the aerodrome at Kenley? It’s only used for gliding these days

I was thinking more of planes in the Biggin Hill stack (queue) for Heathrow. I just noticed some comments on the Riddlesdown Residents Association website below

My experience still remains the same - certainly didn't notice any commercial planes being low. There are flight routes over the top but they're not particularly frequent and nothing that feels even remotely close.
