Driving into London over half term? Want to avoid a fine? Check the ULEZ expansion 25 October

Expansion date is 25 October and it's to everything within the north and south circular routes.

It'll be a much bigger area than the congestion charge zone (which is a separate charge) and has stricter emissions criteria than the existing LEZ.

Warning signs are already up, and it should be pretty clear. But if you weren't expecting it, it might be an unwelcome surprise, especially if you didn't notice and end up with the penalty charge

It's £12.50 per day if your vehicle is not compliant, and the only day it will not apply is Christmas Day. There is a temporary exemption until 2025 for vehicles which are in the disabled/disabled passenger tax class.

Thought I’d bump this as it starts tomorrow!

Thanks! I am driving to City Airport and parking there for 6 days. It’s within the zone so I am assuming I will pay on the day I enter and the day I leave rather than the whole 6 days that I’ll be parked in the zone? I can’t seem to find exact information so if anyone has any guidance I would be very grateful - thank you!

Actually ignore me, I have now seen on the tfl website that parked cars are exempt so I’ll just pay on the day I enter and the day I leave.

Have you done the car checker. 80% of cars are exempt.

Does anyone know if you need to apply for an exemption For a historical vehicle or if you’ve registered as a historical vehicle with the dvla do you need to apply again?
