Laid back primary school needed in E17

We're moving to the Stow and I'm looking for a relaxed, laid back and preferably non-uniform primary in E17. DS is in year 4 and DD will be starting reception in January. DD has SN and I need a school where they have a can-do attitude and not (as one school told me lsat week) 'oh, we've already got one of THOSE starting in September.'
If your child attends a lovely, friendly primary please let me know!

Where are you moving to? Dd is at nursery, (and going to school next Jan) at Roger Ascham. I really like it. It does have a uniform (for school) but seems quite informal. V friendly, very mixed intake - big but they all seem to be. Can't imagine they would have a problem with any kind of SEN... that comment is shocking!

Greenleaf is supposed to be good I think...

Hi Adair, sounds like we might be neighbours! We'll be in Chapel End, a few minutes away from Lloyd Park.
I have contacted Roger Ascham and am hoping to visit soon. I have also spoken to Greenleaf, ditto. So if DD gets into Roger Ascham they would be in the same class! We haven't got to the exchanging contracts stage yet, so I can't officially apply.

Sounds like it! Chapel End Infants is supposed to be v good too. I believe both schools are full - but then so much movement in London area, fingers crossed you'll be alright.

Where are you moving from? We were in Stoke Newington and have been here for 7 months now... No regrets. Happy to meet up and show you round!

(PS which school made the hideous comment? initials fine...)

It will be lovely to know someone! I will let you know when we have exchanged contracts. Re the school, I'm not yet ready to name and shame, I might take it up with the governors.
I am going to miss Stokey so much--but am ready to move, we really need more space.

How did it go?

Arabica · 24/09/2010 09:55

Sorry forgot to let you know. We have moved to E17 and DS is unhappily at Chapel End which he detests (think this is because it's not in Stoke Newington rather than school itself, though). DD is starting at Wadham pre-school, I liked Roger Ascham very much but am not sure it's right for her because of the size.

Oh! How funny. I went to see Wadham today for ds (he is 2), think he will be doing two mornings...

Hope your ds settles soon, how long have you been here?

Arabica · 26/09/2010 01:56

DD will be doing 5 afternoons starting Mon! It's going to be fine for a term but the lack of proper outside spce is really a shame.
