OCD Counsellor

Long shot, but was wondering if anyone can recommend a Glasgow-based counsellor for email/telephone/face-to-face consultation? A close family member is in poor mental health, and while he himself wouldn't consider counselling, I need someone expert to talk to about his depression/OCD. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

you need to ask for a referal to a CBT THERAPIST for your relative. ocd is treated/managed with ads and cbt...the combo works quite well for most people. ask their gp.

I agree that it can be very difficult to get accurate, evidence based information from many people calling themselves "counsellors". In the first instance you can talk to a GP (preferably the family members one). If you really want to go "private" you need to speak to a registered CBT therapist or a Clinical Psychologist (umlikely that they will give advice for free though).
