I'm new to the UK, and am moving to Southfields next week. My son is 3 and my daughter is 1.5, and I was hoping someone could recommend a good nursery (although it seems impossible to get a spot...?), playgroup... in fact I'd love any local recommendations please! Thank you!

Hi there, I am at the top of earlsfield road so not too far from Southfields. To be honest, it will prob be easier to find out about nurseries and playgroups once you arrive, there are lots of people with kids in this area so often best to go by word of mouth.

My only suggestions are: Earlsfield library - has its own kids bit and they do storytime regularly, plus a few other groups - good place to pick up info on what's on for kids, and local activities etc.

There is an activity place called It's a Kids THing - useful thru the summer. They have a cafe, soft play etc. It's opposite the library.

The Cannons gym on Burr Road offers childcare and is another good place to meet people/find activities for kids.

There are many, many music classes in the SW, you just need to find one you like!

Common Grounds on Wandsworth Common is another popular meeting spot, playground just next to it, they have loads of good flyers for keep fit, music, jobs, sitters etc.

Best of luck, hope you have an easy move!

I live in Southfields and have children around the same age. You have moved to teh right area. Southfields is very child friendly!!

There is a great playgroup at St Paul's Church, Inner Park Road SW19. The staff are lovely and the facilities are great. It runs from 9-12 every day.

There are a number of one oclock clubs which run daily from 1-30pm. Neares one is probabaly Coronation Gardens or King Georges Park.

Library runs rhyme time sessions (Friday) and storytime (Tuesday).

Southmead school, Princes Way sw19 has great childrens ccentre which runs a number of play sessions suring the week including messy play, babies and crawlers etc.

There really is loads to do!

On Thursdays you can go to the bookshop in Replingham Road (they have a story time for toddler's) and Friday's at 2pm I can recommend the Southfields library.
