Nurseries in Cambridge

Hello

I would really appreciate some advice on nurseries in Cambridge. I am due in October so starting to look into nurseries for next year. I live in Waterbeach, work on the Science Park and DH works near Cherry Hinton. Any recommendations or advice on what to avoid would be great. Also, how early do you need to look?

Thanks!

Cambridge day nursery Milton Road - has raised itself up from an abysmal ofsted last year to having a waiting list. My dd has been there for a year and I will be really sad when she has to leave to start school. A really homely, caring and lovely place.

Thanks - that's good to know it's changed.

I would avoid Snap, on Chesterton High St. Dd was there for a year a few years ago and it was already pretty bad but apparently it's even worse now...
Have heard very good things about Pat-a-cake, Joints Colleges and HArvey Road.

My DSD went to the Joint Colleges nursery, and it seemed really good. That was a few years ago now, though.

On the how early to look question, I'd say the answer is straightaway. Good, non-commercial day nurseries (Patacakes, Harvey Road, JCN...) can have 18 month waiting lists.

My son loves Kids Unlimited at Wolfson Court. It's got a new manager who's really making her mark (in a good way) the kids have a fantastic outside play area and the rooms are big and light. I'm really happy with the care he's getting and he loves going.

He's been there since 12months and is 19months now.

Thanks for the info everyone. Going to start looking round a few now.

Dd used to go to Kids Unlimted on the Science Park - that would be very convenient for you. She was happy there.

Has anyone been using the Kids unlimited nursery at Science park andy feedback would be really helpful?
