I know this will sound a bit daft but I really need advice on how to get a pushchair off a train ! I have one DD aged 22 months and can get on easily enough by tilting the pushchair back but how do you get off ? So far have relied on help to lift pushchair from train to platform but can't assume kindly strangers will always be there to lend a hand. So.....how do you do it then ?!! Thanks.

Either :

  1. Bump it down forwards ono back wheels or
  2. Bring it out backwards same as you went in.

You're in Glasgow though by the sounds of things. Can pretty much assure you there will always be a kindly stranger!

Thanks v much weegiemum. You're right - so far has always been a kindly stranger but good to know, just in case ! Will try bringing it out baqckwards and see how that goes :-)

Hi, scookie, I tend to go down stairs or any steps with the buggy facing forward on its back wheels and bump in down.

I am sure kindly strangers will oblige, though, with or without more or less witty banter

You do have to be on the look out though for the "friendly Glasgow Drunk" trying to help!

Only made that mistake once - he walked from Central to Buchanan Street with me and I had to pretend to see someone I knew to get away!!

LOL - I know what you mean - I seem to attract those people ! They mean well, generally !!

If you use the end carriage the train operator man/woman is duty bound to help you.

Or so they told me AFTER I'd heaved out the pram, 5 bags of shopping and the various accoutrements being chucked out of the pram myself.

Bugger
