Where can I go locally?
I want to be able to go in to a store and see fabrics, stroke them, and dream about things I could make. I also want affordable!! Is it too much to ask .

John Lewis?

Heartsease · 25/05/2010 15:34

John Lewis is really not bad. I haven't been in Cally & Co (the new one by the Arts Theatre), but thought it looked more suitable for cushions etc. than making clothes.

John Lewis' haberdashery dept (1st floor past the handbags). Other than that and Cally and Co. there doesn't seem to be anywhere.

There's one on King Street, isn't there? I think it's called Sew Creative or something? Actually, I think it's primarily a sewing machine shop, but I think it sells fabrics too.

There used to be a tiny fabric shop called the Fabric Co on sussex st. I am not sure it is still there though..
