As of next week am on maternity leave and have more time to spend saving money so looking for local hints and tips.
One I would share - Turners Farmshop in Staple Hill (just off the Carsons Road (marked staple hill) roundabout on the ringroad) where fruit and veg (though limited to seasonal) tends to be cheaper and fresher than supermarket. The (local and good quality) meat is more expensive as is dried goods, but the cider (you buy or bring your own container adn they fill) is very good (several varieties) and very decent price.
Also Tuckers butchers on Soundwell Road - gets busy but very decent meat, cheaper than supermarket (again!) and customer service is excellent. Only does lamb/beef/pork/chicken but what they do is very good.
Any shops worth visiting? Events worth noting down or products worth searching out in the name of cost saving?
