Leckhampton
Charlton Kings
Tivoli lovely too
Bishops Cleeve is supposed to be good if you don't mind being out of town (property prices more reasonable too)

Quiltingmama · 14/08/2010 09:05

Leckhampton has the schools and there are playgrounds, green spaces and cafes. Good all round really.

Yes, theres a bit of a Bermuda triangle this year. We are less than 0.5 miles from Leckhampton School and only just squeaked in

randomv · 21/08/2010 18:25

The place we are buying is just round the corner from Leckhampton School but from what I understand, is a bit of a black hole for secondary schools. Of course my LO is only 2 so antying can happen in the next 9 years lol!

easylife9 · 04/09/2010 12:15

I recommend Bishops Cleeve just moved here from Tivoli less than a year ago and love it. I have two children at Bournside after being at St James, Bournside is a good school. My son will be going to school in Cleeve (he has a choice of 3 primary's) and like Leckhampton we have plenty of green spaces, cafes and a great village atmosphere.

DollyTwat · 30/09/2010 12:56

Prestbury is nice too!
Although you do need to be careful that you don't stray into Whaddon (some areas there not v nice) sorry if you live there

I'm trying to get us Cheltonians together, maybe for a Christmas drink one evening?
Anyone?

ApuskiDusky · 30/09/2010 13:18

I'd be up for it Dolly, I'm going to bump cherrymonsters thread about a meet-up, to see if we can find more.

DollyTwat · 30/09/2010 13:36

I've emailed cheltenhamgal who is our tsarina whatever that might be!!

Maybe the only way is to contact all the people on the list of local MN'ers.

Where shall we go then?

cherrymonster · 30/09/2010 13:48

christmas meet up sounds fab ladies x

DollyTwat · 30/09/2010 23:11

here it is

DontCallMeBaby · 03/10/2010 22:25

Ooh, randomv, new neighbour ... welcome to the 'grey area'! DD is 6 so we have rather less time to fret about secondary schools.

If I were moving to Cheltenham from further afield, but knowing what I do now, I'd probably go for somewhere like Cleeve or Prestbury. Or Gloucester, actually. As it is, I'm rather attached to being (just) walking distance from town, having lived much closer in for some years, and I'm now terribly attached to Leckhampton, even though I live on the furthest outskirts.

I've created an update thread with a list of everyone I think is coming on the 13th Nov here
