Any reviews on Melbourn Village College please?

Hi everyone.

Can anyone tell me anything about Melbourn Village College in Cambridgeshire please? We've just moved into catchment and I'd be grateful for any local's opinions before we go and visit the school tomorrow.

this is all second hand...

what I have heard is that it was (is?) not as good as it should be given that their intake come from very good local primaries. In other words their GCSE results were ok, but not as good as you would expect from where the children start from. I heard they were targeted as a "coasting school" a few years back and since then GCSE results have improved.

sports facilities are good as they recently took control of the local gym which is on their grounds. The sport centre also has good facilities for swimming etc.
